[Hiring] Director - Electronic Health Record (EHR) - Health Technology Consulting @Guidehouse

Role Description

The Director will lead high-stakes EHR engagements for health system clients across the full implementation lifecycle — from design and go-live through optimization and sustained adoption. This is a senior, client-facing leadership role responsible for delivery excellence, account ownership, and the development of executive-level relationships.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated depth across EHR implementation, revenue cycle, and patient throughput and logistics operations, and will pair that delivery expertise with a credible point of view on what drives long-term adoption and sustainability of EHR investments. The Director will be expected to translate technical and operational performance into the financial and operational outcomes that matter to senior client leadership.

What You Will Do

• Engagement leadership across the EHR lifecycle.
• Lead implementation, go-live, and post-live optimization engagements end to end, including command center operations, cutover and conversion strategy, defect management, adoption planning, and stabilization activities.
• Lead revenue cycle implementation and optimization engagements with measurable impact on key financial metrics, including:
  • Net collection rate
  • Cash acceleration
  • Denial rate
  • Accounts receivable days
  • Cost-to-collect
  • Clean claim rate
• Connect technical configuration to financial outcomes that are visible to client leadership.
• Lead engagements across capacity and patient logistics platforms, linking bed management, transfer operations, and command center workflows to outcomes such as:
  • Length of stay
  • Transfer acceptance
  • Capacity utilization
  • Patient flow
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CFO, COO, CIO/CMIO, and revenue cycle and operational leadership.
• Anticipate client needs and develop individual engagements into sustained, multi-workstream relationships.
• Own account strategy and growth, lead pursuits and proposal development, and apply sound commercial judgment to scoping and pricing.
• Contribute to the development of the practice through delivery frameworks, methodologies, and mentorship of consulting staff.
• Advance a clear, evidence-based point of view on adoption and sustainability for consulting solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a University Degree and minimum 10+ years of prior relevant consulting and/or work experience.
• Demonstrated, repeated success leading EHR implementations, go-lives, and optimizations at a lead or director level.
• A proven track record in revenue cycle, with fluency in hospital finance metrics.
• Demonstrated success in patient throughput and logistics, including capacity command center and transfer center operations.
• A proven track record of leading client accounts and developing executive (C-suite) relationships.
• A well-developed, evidence-based point of view on adoption and sustainability for consulting solutions.
• Strong leadership judgment in ambiguous environments and a commitment to developing others.

Requirements

• Epic implementation and operations experience, with knowledge of additional EHR platforms (e.g., Oracle Health/Cerner, MEDITECH).
• Prior consulting or advisory experience leading external client engagements.
• Direct experience establishing or optimizing command center and capacity operations at the multi-hospital or health-system level.
