Role Description

IDC is seeking a Director, Commercial Operations to provide senior-level insight and operating leadership across some of our most important commercial priorities. This person will have a broad view across the Commercial portfolio and work directly with senior leaders to understand performance, identify where we need to go deeper, and shape the decisions and actions that follow.

Much of the work will cross functions and organizational boundaries. The Director will:

• Bring senior leaders and teams together around complex issues.
• Challenge assumptions when needed.
• Create clarity around what needs to happen next.
• Help drive action on priorities that matter to the business.

What You’ll Do

• Commercial Performance & Portfolio Analysis:
  • Own analysis of key Commercial KPIs, trends, variances, and performance drivers across the portfolio.
  • Develop an integrated view across regions, segments, teams, and strategic priorities.
  • Bring together data from multiple sources, reconcile inconsistencies, and investigate results.
  • Look beyond headline numbers to understand underlying drivers, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Connect signals across different parts of the business to identify broader implications.
• Strategic Insights & Decision Support:
  • Turn complex data and operational information into clear insights and recommended actions for senior leadership.
  • Determine what needs to be understood and structure the analysis required.
  • Advise leadership on critical commercial priorities.
  • Create executive reporting, business reviews, analyses, and presentations.
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence:
  • Partner with senior leaders and teams across various functions.
  • Bring together the right information, perspectives, and expertise.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments.
  • Create clarity around inputs, decisions, actions, and deliverables.
  • Hold owners accountable for commitments.
  • Surface unresolved issues early and coordinate necessary interventions.
• Turning Insight Into Action:
  • Translate findings into clear actions and expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate whether actions taken are changing the result.
  • Recognize when an issue requires deeper analysis or senior leadership attention.
  • Help leadership focus on the most important issues.
• Reporting & Process Improvement:
  • Continuously improve reporting, metrics, dashboards, and analytical approaches.
  • Identify manual, fragmented, or inconsistent reporting processes.
  • Work with partner teams to improve data quality and standardization.
  • Build practical, scalable tools and processes for better visibility.

What You Bring

• 8–12+ years of experience in Commercial Operations, Business Operations, Revenue Operations, Strategy, Transformation, Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with business performance data.
• Ability to move from data to insight and develop clear recommendations.
• Experience advising senior leaders on high-priority business questions.
• Experience developing executive reporting and presentations for senior leadership.
• Strong ability to structure ambiguous questions and work through complex problems.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large data sets.
• Strong PowerPoint skills for clear executive communication.
• Ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience improving reporting, workflows, or operating processes.
• Familiarity with Salesforce and business intelligence platforms is preferred.
• Strong communication, judgment, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities.
