[Hiring] Digital Transformation and Delivery Lead @AECOM

Role Description

AECOM is seeking a qualified candidate to lead the digital delivery for the remediation business in US West, from setting the direction through to getting it done. This role looks across the business to find where maturing how we use digital technology will make a real difference, whether that means new systems, getting more out of existing ones, or improving the way we work.

• Define what needs to happen, what it will take, when, and the benefit it will deliver, and then lead delivery.
• This is a do-and-lead role, performing hands-on solution work where needed and leading delivery through others where capability exists.
• Coordinate resources from across the business to support initiatives, without line-management authority.
• Work within corporate technology direction and standards, while making the case for new technology, including emerging capabilities like AI.
• Cover the full lifecycle, improving long-running programs as well as standing up new work.
• Day-to-day direction comes from the regional Digital Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Strategy and Opportunity:
  • Identify where maturing the use of digital technology will create value.
  • Define what needs to be done, the resources required, the timing, and the expected benefit.
  • Set and evolve the digital roadmap, prioritizing initiatives by value, urgency, complexity, and available capacity.
  • Align with corporate technology direction and standards.
  • Maintain a working view of market trends and digital practice.
• Delivery Leadership and Execution:
  • Lead delivery of digital initiatives across both new and existing engagements.
  • Perform hands-on solution work directly where needed.
  • Oversee delivery to ensure initiatives meet scope, timing, quality, and expected benefit.
  • Lead the selection of the right technology for each need.
• Resourcing and Coordination:
  • Assess where the business has capability to take on delivery work and where the gaps are.
  • Coordinate and provide delivery direction to resources drawn from across the business.
• Solution Quality and Translation:
  • Act as the translation layer between the business and technical resources.
  • Implement and oversee QA/QC processes.
  • Develop and deploy SOPs, templates, and playbooks.
• Value, Alignment, and Reporting:
  • Articulate the value proposition for digital initiatives and track outcomes.
  • Work in close partnership with the regional Digital Director of Operations.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder alignment across leadership, project teams, technical resources, and end users.
  • Own leadership reporting and decision-making escalation.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 8 years of experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education, in digital delivery, digital transformation, or a related field.
• Successful candidate will undergo a background check.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience spanning digital strategy or transformation and hands-on digital delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to perform solution work directly and lead delivery through others.
• Hands-on experience configuring and administering Smartsheet, including Advanced Work Management (AWM).
• Experience configuring solutions across the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem.
• Familiarity with core platforms used in the environment business.
• Proven ability to set a digital roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
• Experience building business cases and tracking realized benefits.
• Strong ability to operate with ambiguity.
• Proven ability to coordinate and direct matrixed resources.
• Awareness of emerging capabilities such as AI.
• Experience in environmental remediation activities, consulting, or management.
