[Hiring] Development Manager, Stewardship @NPOWER INC

2d ago - NPOWER INC is hiring a remote Development Manager, Stewardship. 💸 Salary: usd 75,000 - 85,000 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

NPower seeks a Development Manager, Stewardship to strengthen and deepen our relationships with corporate and foundation partners. This role makes sure every partner feels informed, recognized, and connected to the impact of their investment, from the first gift through renewal.

The Development Manager, Stewardship owns the systems and communications behind partner stewardship. That includes the accuracy of partner and grant data in our CRM, regular updates to partners on what is happening at NPower, partner recognition, and the information that goes into funder reports. Using data and insight, this person helps the Development team understand each partner relationship and decide what to send, when, and why.

The ideal candidate brings development operations experience, strong CRM skills, and clear writing, and wants to grow as a relationship-focused fundraiser.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner Stewardship and Communications
    • Develop and manage a stewardship program for NPower’s funders, with touchpoints matched to each partner’s giving level and interests.
    • Lead the donation and grant acknowledgment process, including drafting thank-you cards and formal acknowledgment letters.
    • Own the process for donor communications in partnership with the grant writer and Marketing teams, from content gathering through approval and delivery, including writing regular funder updates on NPower news, student outcomes, events, and milestones.
    • Support front-line fundraisers with tailored funder communications, briefing materials, and follow-up.
  • Partner Recognition
    • Manage all funder recognition activities, including listings on the NPower website, recognition in the annual report, and social media acknowledgment.
    • Coordinate with the Marketing team on drafting and publishing donor recognition articles and press releases.
    • Track recognition commitments in the CRM so every partner receives the recognition outlined in their agreement.
  • Data Integrity and Insights
    • Maintain accurate funder, gift, and grant records in Salesforce, including grant terms, deliverables, deadlines, and recognition commitments.
    • Build and maintain reports and dashboards on funder engagement and stewardship activity.
    • Analyze partner and program data to surface insights that shape stewardship priorities and cultivation strategy.
  • Reporting Support
    • Track funder reporting requirements and deadlines across the partner portfolio.
    • Gather program, outcome, and financial data from internal teams to support funder reports.
    • Identify the information each funder values most and use it to shape reports and ongoing communications.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in nonprofit development operations, donor stewardship, grants management, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, including data entry standards, reports, and dashboards.
  • Working Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciling data against source documents.
  • Clear, accurate writing for external audiences, with samples of donor or partner communications required.
  • Experience coordinating information across teams such as Program, Finance, and Communications.

Requirements

  • Checks their own work for accuracy before it goes out.
  • Pulls information together from many sources and draws clear conclusions.
  • Manages competing deadlines and raises risks early, with a proposed solution.
  • Asks questions to get unblocked, then follows through.
  • Builds trust with partners and colleagues through consistent, timely follow-up.

Preferred

  • Experience stewarding corporate or foundation partners at the six- and seven-figure level.
  • Familiarity with workforce development, education, veterans’ services, or economic mobility.
  • Comfort using AI tools for research and drafting, with strong judgment in verifying accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Success in the First Six Months

  • A stewardship calendar is in place for every active corporate and foundation partner.
  • Every gift and grant receives a timely acknowledgment, and funder updates go out on a regular schedule.
  • Partner and grant records in Salesforce are accurate and current, including recognition commitments and reporting deadlines.
  • Every partner receives the recognition outlined in their agreement.
