[Hiring] Deputy Director for Voter Protection @Relentless

Role Description

The Deputy Director for Voter Protection owns what we know about voting and how we communicate it. Your central responsibility will be building and maintaining a single repository of accurate, current, plain-language voting information covering every state we operate in, which powers our vote plan builder and everything participants see in Rally.

• Approve anything we publish that touches voting, including event scripts, FAQs, and participant-facing materials.
• Catch changes to voting rules, update guidance, and proactively communicate important changes.
• Own the voter education calendar that sets when guidance needs to change.
• Build out voter education content covering state and county rules, deadlines, ID requirements, and mail and early vote procedures.
• Shift into live operations, captaining the Voter Protection channel in Slack, triaging questions in real time during events.
• Train the team in finding accurate answers to voting questions.

This is a full-time cycle role with an end date of November 15th, 2026.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in digital organizing, voter protection, voter education, research, election administration, or voting rights advocacy.
• Working knowledge of voting rights law and know-your-rights protocols.
• Experience managing content in a CMS or similar tool.
• Strong plain-language writing skills.
• Experience training, coaching, or serving as the escalation point for frontline staff or volunteers.
• Existing relationships with or experience working alongside voter protection or state voting rights organizations are a plus.
• Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.

Requirements

• Location: Remote
• Compensation: $7,000/mo (August–November 15, 2026)
• Reports to: Partnerships Director
• Schedule: Full-time
• Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
• Anticipate a six-day workweek in the final stretch, starting in October and running through Election Day.
