Role Description

Seeking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 7+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience to support critical production databases, Azure SQL environments, data warehouses, and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with:

• Microsoft SQL Server

• Production database administration
• Database migration

• Data analytics
• Data warehousing
• Backup/recovery
• Database security
• SQL Server Always On/High Availability
• Power BI Administration (highly preferred)

Responsibilities include:

• Provide database administration and operational support for critical SQL Server production environments.
• Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and secure Microsoft SQL Server databases and database servers.
• Perform database health checks and identify opportunities to improve database performance, reliability, and availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, server health, capacity, and availability issues.
• Perform SQL Server database migrations and upgrades from legacy servers and older SQL versions to newer environments.
• Support migration of on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure SQL.
• Deploy, configure, secure, back up, monitor, and maintain Azure SQL database solutions.
• Integrate Azure SQL resources with other Azure services supporting enterprise applications and data solutions.
• Design and execute data migration processes, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and validation.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical database models based on business and technical requirements.
• Design and maintain database tables, relationships, schemas, and normalized structures to ensure data integrity and minimize redundancy.
• Review data models and data dictionaries for compliance with organizational standards.
• Deploy and maintain database schema changes across test and production environments.
• Support data warehouses, data marts, and Power BI environments in collaboration with BI and development teams.
• Coordinate database backup and restore activities with backup administration teams.
• Support database security, access management, availability, and recovery requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• 4+ years of experience supporting production database servers.
• 3+ years of data analytics experience.
• 1+ year of Azure Database Administration experience.
• 1+ year of data warehouse experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database migration, upgrades, data cleanup, and data validation.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Azure SQL database solutions.
• Knowledge of database security, backup, restore, and recovery processes.
• Experience supporting database schema changes across development, test, and production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Always On Availability Groups.
• Experience with Power BI Administration.
• Business systems analysis and design experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse and data mart environments.
• Experience with logical and physical data modeling, normalization, and database design.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
