[Hiring] Cybersecurity Engineer @PlanIT Group

Role Description

PlanIT Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (DOTCOM) to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. This is a remote role.

Working as part of a small cross-functional team, this individual will participate in development and support the team's effort to maintain a secure web presence. Responsibilities include:

• Managing web security applications to monitor and mitigate attacks on web-facing applications.
• Ensuring internal and external data security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
• Implementing observability across platforms for application monitoring and alerting.
• Deploying threat detection and mitigation techniques to ensure data/application security.
• Working with auditors to ensure security compliance.

Qualifications

• Functional comprehension of web application architecture.
• Understanding of PCI Security requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience in cybersecurity and NIST standards.
• 5+ years of technical writing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, Social Science, Education, Human Resources Development, Psychology, or other related disciplines with twelve to fifteen years of experience; or a Master’s degree with ten to twelve years of related experience; or a PhD with eight to nine years of related experience.
• Certifications (One or more required):
• CompTIA Security +
• CPTE - Certified Penetration Testing Engineer or CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
• CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor
• CISSP
• CISSP-ISSEP
• CISSP-ISSAP
• CISSP-ISSMP preferred

• Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
