Role Description

CTRM Subject Matter Expert — Metals & Minerals Trading (Inventory & Warehouse focus)

• Part-time advisory role supporting a Damco client modernization engagement
• Remote engagement
• Legacy ERP/CTRM modernization (discovery & proof of concept)
• Consulting / advisory assignment — part-time, non-dedicated
• Commitment: A few hours per week, drawn from a small agreed monthly bucket of hours
• Duration: ~8 weeks initially, with potential to extend into subsequent modernization phases
• Reports to Technical Lead
• Works alongside Solution & Data (DB2) Architects, IBM i Architect, and the client's business & IT stakeholders

Qualifications

• Commodity trading & risk management (CTRM)
• Hands-on experience with CTRM/ETRM systems for physical commodities
• Deep understanding of the physical commodity trade lifecycle
• Familiarity with mark-to-market, position and exposure tracking
• Understanding of trade documentation and title/risk transfer
• Direct operational experience in metals & minerals trading
• Familiarity with metals-specific concepts
• Operational expertise in inventory and warehouse management for physical commodities
• Hands-on experience with custom-built CTRM systems
• Ability to translate trading requirements into data-model and business-rule specifications
• Experience designing, specifying, or heavily configuring a home-grown or bespoke CTRM
• Comfortable reviewing and critiquing data models
• Strong stakeholder-facing skills

Requirements

• Validate the canonical data model for the selected module against real metals-trading semantics
• Map the physical and contractual trade lifecycle onto the client's modules
• Assess inventory & warehouse management against current system capabilities
• Identify process improvements the current system cannot support
• Advise on proof-of-concept module selection
