[Hiring] Cross-Disciplinary Intern @RTC

Role Description

This is not a “sit back and observe” internship. This role is designed for someone who can take a loosely defined idea and run with it.

• Approach research with depth and persistence.
• Dig, cross-reference sources, and go beyond what’s easy to find to get to useful information.
• Navigating corporate and university websites, identifying specific decision-makers, and connecting details across multiple sources.
• Turn information into something RTC can use right away.
• Organize, track, and maintain data using CRM tools to support outreach, relationship-building, and ongoing engagement.
• Bring your own ideas, learning experiences, and entrepreneurial mindset to the work.
• Comfortable working through ambiguity and staying persistent when information isn’t easy to find.
• Build a list of potential partners that align with our mission.
• Identify the right people inside those organizations.
• Surface events, initiatives, or moments that create real opportunities for connection.
• Pull insights that make outreach thoughtful instead of generic.
• Help the team move faster, make smarter decisions, and show up prepared in real conversations.
• Think about how this work can be done more efficiently, including where tools and AI can support faster, smarter research and sourcing.
• Core focus is Opportunity Development, connecting across teams and contributing to RTC's mission.

The time obligation for this internship is 10 - 12 hours per week.

Requirements

• Identify companies, organizations, and events that align with RTC’s mission and partnerships work.
• Find the right people within those organizations, focusing on decision-makers.
• Build clean, structured prospect lists that the team can act on immediately.
• Support the team by drafting outreach grounded in real insights.
• Go beyond surface-level research by pulling insights from CSR reports, events, and company initiatives.
• Ensure outreach is thoughtful, not generic, and aligned with what partners care about.
• Respond to quick-turn requests such as building lists, sourcing contacts, or gathering data for meetings.
• Prepare briefing notes that help the team walk into conversations informed and ready.
• Maintain momentum by ensuring information is captured, updated, and easy to access.
• Track activity and updates in HubSpot so conversations stay active and organized.
• Use tools, including AI, to speed up research, sourcing, and data gathering.
• Identify opportunities to improve how information is found, structured, and used.
• Help the team move faster without sacrificing accuracy or thoughtfulness.
