[Hiring] Crop Department Manager @The Jonus Group

Role Description

Seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Crop Department Manager to join a team. This is a newly created position designed to support the growth of the organization and streamline the workflow within the Crop Insurance department. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in crop insurance, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage and mentor a team. This role offers the flexibility of being remote, with occasional travel to the office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years in crop insurance, with a strong preference for candidates with managerial experience.
• Property & Casualty (P&C) license required; Crop Insurance license is a plus.
• Proficiency in EPIC software is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be outgoing, resilient, and capable of making tough decisions.
• Relevant educational background in insurance, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Preference for candidates located near Sacramento, but open to fully remote candidates willing to travel to the office 3-4 times per year.

Requirements

• Lead and manage a team of 35+ professionals, including Account Managers and Assistants, within the Crop Insurance department.
• Oversee the quoting and renewal process for crop insurance accounts ranging from $1,000 to $500,000 in size.
• Ensure the efficient handling of the department’s book of business and policies.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with the Director of Account Managers and other leadership to implement strategies for departmental success.
• Utilize EPIC and CSR24 software to manage workflows and ensure operational efficiency.
• Attend in-office meetings 3-4 times per year if located outside the state, or once a month if within commuting distance.

Benefits

• Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually
• Total Compensation: Up to $115,000 annually (including bonus)
