Role Description

Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory. Overtime and travel increase during heavy claim seasons.

The ideal candidate will need to live within the following counties:

• Washington: Asotin, Garfield, Whitman
• Idaho: Nez Perce, Latah, Lewis

Qualified applicants in adjacent counties will be considered based on location and qualifications.

As a Crop Claims Field Adjuster I, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Proactively and independently completing field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex non-routine claims.
• Conveying complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people on claim situations.
• Performing fact-finding regarding crop damage, recording information, and transmitting loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
• Gathering relevant facts, utilizing applicable law, and establishing basic principles of negligence.
• Completing claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Ensuring legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
• Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
• Traveling within the territory with short notice to complete field adjustments and assist nationally on CAT travel teams when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 months or more of experience in the agricultural area.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
• Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 40 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/inclement weather conditions.

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
