Role Description

Zurich is currently looking for a Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory.

The ideal candidate will need to live and service within a 100-mile area of the following Iowa counties: Clay, Palo Alto, Kossuth, Dickinson, Buena Vista, O'Brien, Sac, Calhoun, Carroll.

As an RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Completing field inspections and related responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, and storage bins.
• Discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex non-routine, problematic claims.
• Conveying complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry personnel.
• Performing fact-finding regarding crop damage, recording information, and transmitting loss information.
• Gathering relevant facts, utilizing applicable law, and establishing basic principles of negligence.
• Completing claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Ensuring legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
• Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
• Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.
