[Hiring] Convention & Events Intern @Alpfa

Role Description

The Events Intern supports the full scope of planning and execution for ALPFA Convention 2026, contributing across logistics, vendor coordination, attendee experience, and on-site operations. This role sits on the PgMO/PMO team and offers hands-on experience delivering a national-scale event.

Your Summer at ALPFA — 2026 Intern Program:

• This is a 10-week paid, remote internship (June 22 – August 28, 2026).
• You’ll own a real project that matters to a national organization.
• You’ll start with a Week 1 orientation that gets you connected and confident.
• You’ll check in at the mid-point so there are no surprises.
• You’ll finish by presenting your summer’s work directly to ALPFA’s senior leaders and your peers.
• Every intern travels to the ALPFA National Convention (August 9–13) with flights, hotel, and meals covered.
• You’ll work the largest gathering of Latino professionals in the country.

Key Learning Opportunities

• Hands-on experience coordinating a national-scale event from planning through on-site execution.
• Practical skills in vendor and venue coordination and logistics tracking.
• Exposure to cross-functional event operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide cross-functional event support across the convention planning team.
• Track event logistics and maintain coordination documentation.
• Support vendor and venue coordination.
• Assist with on-site execution during the convention.
• Prepare pre- and post-event documentation.
• Deliver a capstone presentation in the final week of the program (August 24–28), summarizing summer projects and outcomes to ALPFA leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate student (rising junior).
• Event coordination and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Monday.com, Slack, and Google Workspace.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Available to work the full program (June 22 – August 28, 2026) and to travel to the ALPFA National Convention, August 9–13, 2026.

Salary & Compensation

• $20–$25/hour, commensurate with academic level (undergraduate vs. graduate).
• Full-time, 40 hours/week, for the duration of the 10-week summer program.
