This is a Work-From-Home (WFH) position involving approximately 30-50% travel to agency partners throughout the respective territory and holding underwriting authority & accountability across all sizes of Small Commercial business.

Territory: San Diego County & Surrounding Areas. The successful candidate must live within the assigned territory. Preferably, this individual will be based in or near the Northern San Diego area.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of multi-line commercial insurance underwriting experience (with authority)
• Production & Agency Management orientation
• At least 10 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience (with authority) - ideal candidates
• Prior field underwriting or territory management experience - ideal candidates
• Agency/brokerage experience - ideal candidates
• Relevant insurance designations (CPCU, CIC, AU, etc.), or coursework towards them - ideal candidates

• Serves as a top-tier technical expert in commercial lines underwriting
• Independently evaluates and underwrites the most complex and high-value risks
• Operates with elevated authority and autonomy
• Acts as a consultative resource to field underwriters, sales teams, and agency partners
• Drives underwriting excellence and contributes to strategic initiatives
