Role Description

The Employment First Community Developer (EFCJD) is the primary linkage between the business community, job seekers, and Little City Foundation. The EFCJD acts as the hub for all competitive community employment placements by networking with business entities to develop mutually beneficial relationships. The EFCJD ensures the development and delivery of customizable, individualized employment and training program services built upon a foundation of choice, enhanced living, and interpersonal work skills development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for a wide variety of community-based employment sites, ensuring ongoing goodwill and satisfaction of community employers while maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the job market and needs of local businesses.
• Evaluate program participant placement and employability potential to ensure appropriate job match.
• Perform work-site analysis and document performance.
• Maintain availability to meet demands of business and job seeker, including direct support of all new hires from assigned caseload for a prescribed timeframe.
• Market and represent the agency and job seekers to increase positive agency exposure and maximize sustainable job placements.
• Provide job support to people with developmental and other disabilities in employment settings, assisting them to lead self-directed lives, achieve personal goals, and contribute to the community.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, accreditation, State, and Federal certification and licensure requirements and standards.
• Ensure programs and employment linkages meet the specific needs of the program and its participants, promoting the health and safety of all involved parties.
• Meet all prescribed and impromptu deadlines for submission of documentation supporting employment activities.
• Maintain American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR, if required.
• Successfully complete Little City Foundation required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City Foundation policies and practices, or as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in human services or business field is preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience, or comparable knowledge, in either the field of disability services or marketing/sales.
• Knowledge of and experience in working with regulatory agencies and funding sources, including DRS and CARF standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficient in the use of computers and software applications, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license with a good driving record.

Requirements

• Physical demands include sitting for prolonged periods, frequent walking, standing, grasping, lifting, holding, or feeling objects.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Extended use of computer and typing is required.
• Ability to assist and support up to 25 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a recurring basis.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range and ability to operate office equipment.
• No occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, or other potentially infectious substances (Category I).
• Typical office environment.
