Role Description

The Collection Clerk I – Treasury is responsible for performing administrative and compliance-related support functions for government collection programs. This role ensures that accounts, applications, and documentation are processed accurately and in accordance with company, client, and regulatory requirements. The position focuses on detailed review, tracking, documentation, and file maintenance to support collection operations.

• Review and process accounts submitted for programs such as Administrative Wage Garnishments (AWG).
• Process online applications, rehabilitation agreements, approvals, releases, and related documentation.
• Review returned applications, hearing requests, and employer acknowledgements for accuracy and completeness.
• Document all account activity accurately within required systems.
• Log, track, and maintain accurate records of applications, agreements, and supporting documentation.
• Request, receive, and organize required documentation from clients or internal partners.
• Ensure all documents are properly scanned, filed, and maintained in accordance with procedures.
• Communicate with Collection Managers and leadership to resolve outstanding account matters.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately retrieve, analyze, enter, and verify information across multiple systems.
• Basic knowledge of Excel and general computer applications.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply company and client policies and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have or be able to obtain U.S. Department of the Treasury clearance.
