Role Description

The Clinician Coverage Coordinator supports OBHG operations by coordinating and managing clinician schedules across assigned hospital programs. This role ensures that shifts are efficiently filled with a mix of full-time, part-time, and locum tenens clinicians — balancing staffing needs with operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, relationship-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and publish clinician schedules across assigned programs.
• Fill open and emergency shifts in collaboration with recruitment, HR, privileging, and operations teams.
• Partner with the Clinician Experience team to coordinate onboarding and orientation for new clinicians.
• Communicate proactively with clinicians and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shift coverage.
• Negotiate with clinicians to fill open shifts, balancing budget constraints and contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate schedule documentation and data within the scheduling system.
• Develop and nurture professional relationships with clinicians through phone, email, and text communication.
• Support organizational goals to provide 90-day advance notice of schedules where possible.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling, operations, or a related field.
• Proven success managing complex workloads with accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software systems.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform in a high-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience coordinating locum tenens or per diem providers (preferred).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (preferred).
