[Hiring] Clinical Research Project Analyst @UPMC

Role Description

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring a regular full-time Clinical Research Project Analyst to help support the Oncology Clinical Research Services team located at the Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside/Pittsburgh, PA. This role will support the Financial Compliance Analysis and Budgets teams, working Monday through Friday during daylight hours with a remote schedule.

The Project Analyst will function as an integral member of the Hillman Cancer Center Clinical Trials Coverage Analysis and Budget team, supporting the operational and financial management of clinical research studies. Responsibilities include:

• Managing and triaging service center email accounts.
• Ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Developing, maintaining, and enhancing workflow dashboards and reporting tools to support team productivity.
• Monitoring key performance metrics and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Coordinating and managing relationships with external vendors.
• Overseeing associated workflows to ensure compliance with established timelines and requirements.
• Serving as a resource for troubleshooting OnCore calendar and billing concerns.
• Collaborating closely with clinical research, finance, and operational teams to support study start-up activities.
• Facilitating efficient workflow processes and contributing to the successful execution of clinical trial budgeting and coverage analysis activities.

The Clinical Research Services (CRS) team is made up of nearly 200 staff members who facilitate the development, implementation, coordination, internal data monitoring, and completion of oncology-focused trials at Hillman. These trials include:

• Institutional (investigator-initiated) trials.
• Multi-center cooperative group/National Clinical Trial Network (NCTN) trials.
• Consortium and industry-sponsored trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience, or High School degree plus 5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of clinical research protocol and budgeting preferred.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Clinical Research/Trials experience preferred.
• Prior work experience as a Project Coordinator highly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
• Must be very organized and deadline conscious.
• Project Management knowledge and ability to manage multiple, complex, large-scale projects.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in operations preferred.
• Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred.
• Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages.
• Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
• This position requires effective planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
