The Excess Surplus (E&S) Claims team handles some of the most unique and interesting insurance claims at Nationwide. Many have complicated risks and loss history, requiring us to be adaptable and resilient in our work to help customers. As a Claims Specialist, you'll investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve property damage claims of moderate severity and complexity. It will be important to manage the work and performance of vendors to achieve successful resolution of claims. We'll count on you to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, meeting their needs and expectations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• Additional education in a particular line of business may be required by the hiring business unit.
• Insurance coursework preferred.

Requirements

• Two to three years property claims handling experience or comparable job related experience or education preferred.
• Commercial claims property experience preferred.
• Prior multi-jurisdictional, E&S or other specialty lines experience preferred.
• Familiarity with various types of insurance policies preferred.
• Specific experience in a particular line of business may be required by the hiring business unit.
