Role Description
We are looking for a Civil Estimator who will be tasked with creating and managing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans, preparing take-offs and estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.
- Develop a standardized estimate cost reporting framework to evaluate Developers’ construction pricing submissions (ROM, Schematic, or Construction-level estimates).
- Review and validate scope against a predefined demarcation matrix, highlighting any deviations and associated cost impacts.
- Align all estimates and reports with the Client’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) categories.
- Provide analysis of developers’ large-scale construction costs using market intelligence and parametric cost data.
- Compare Developers’ security costs against internal security cost benchmarks (data provided by the Client).
- Document all assumptions and exclusions from Developer estimates, as well as those proposed by A/E, GC, or Client.
- Track and report on design changes between estimate revisions, including associated cost and schedule impacts.
- Identify and incorporate Value Engineering (VE) options for Client consideration.
- Collaborate with internal commodity and sourcing teams to ensure estimates reflect current market trends and pricing.
- Provide summaries and breakdowns of construction phasing.
- Interface with key Client stakeholders, and other internal teams regarding estimates and program costs.
- Prepare and deliver high-level ROM estimates to support program planning, capital expenditure (CAPEX) forecasting, and pipeline planning efforts.
- Assist in the development of a cost modeling tool to enhance early-phase estimating and benchmark tracking.
- Perform other estimating duties as assigned, supporting the overall development and delivery of civil/large scale projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3 years minimum cost management or estimating experience for Civil Projects.
- Experience with complex commercial projects such as Laboratories, medical facilities, manufacturing facilities (Preferred)
- Cost Manager/Estimator with large scale infrastructure required
- CostX proficient
- Proficient in the use of the required functions in Google Suite, strong capabilities in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel are preferred
- Knowledge of relevant construction technologies and trends (Sustainability) to assist with appropriate options and cost implications
- Great personal relationships skills and ability to work with a wider interdisciplinary team of people
- Organized and detailed oriented
