Role Description
This position involves identifying, selecting, and managing global supplier relationships for assigned categories to ensure that products and services are delivered to the required quality, cost, and delivery performance levels.
- Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned categories.
- Executes sourcing vision and strategy, including BVC objectives and developing team synergy.
- Collaborates with internal functions to meet customer requirements.
- Monitors supplier relationships for strategic alignment and sustainability.
- Ensures standardized processes are followed as required.
- Drives material cost reductions, supplier terms improvement, and supports new product development (NPD) launches.
- Manages global supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Reviews RFQ packages and spreadsheet analysis for improvement recommendations.
- Identifies potential suppliers and makes recommendations based on total cost analysis and quality compliance.
- Performs supplier negotiations to determine competitive total cost solutions.
- Defines, drives, and implements continuous improvement projects.
- Leads simplification in the overall Supply Chain process.
- Provides expertise to the internal team and other functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience (7-10+ years).
- Master’s Degree is a distinct positive.
- Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma or APIC Certification is a distinct positive.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Proven track record of obtaining Material Cost Out (MCO) savings.
- Background in successful Best Value Country (BVC) sourcing.
- Ability to build relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to think and act strategically in support of business objectives.
- Experience in reviewing staff work and providing constructive feedback.
- May mentor, lead, and supervise personnel (generally 1 junior professional or AT).
Requirements
- Travel as necessary (estimated at 20% +/-).
- Bilingual is a distinct large plus (Spanish/English).
- Chinese is another plus but not mandatory.
