Role Description

Exercises independent discretion or judgment in handling all types of catastrophe property claims. Also assists assigned field office when not on catastrophe deployment in handling day to day property claims.

What You’ll Do:

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve property claims resulting from catastrophes, natural disasters, and large-scale events.
• Conduct on-site inspections, estimate damages, and prepare detailed reports.
• Provide clear, empathetic communication to policyholders throughout the claims process.
• Partner with claims teams and external resources to deliver fair and timely resolutions.
• Represent ERIE Insurance with professionalism and compassion in the field.

Qualifications

• Minimum Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional Experience: Five years of claims handling experience, or equivalent, including two years of property claims handling experience, required.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural damage repair and valuation techniques or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with estimating software (preferably Symbility) or equivalent, preferred.
• Incumbent must live in the territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
• Position requires the incumbent to serve on the Catastrophe Team as a first responder which will include frequent travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks.
• Designations and/or Licenses: Successful completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) program preferred.
• Appropriate license as required by state.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
