[Hiring] Captioning Student Associate @University of Texas at Austin

Role Description

The Captioning Student Associate captions and transcribes a wide variety of class materials and other requests. This provides a valuable service to the entire campus, especially for students that have accessibility needs, to be able to participate and learn fully in their classes.

• Captioning and transcribing
• Syncing captions
• Communicating with other undergraduate as well as graduate student associates through messages and meetings

Qualifications

• Access to a modern computer and high-speed internet
• High fluency in written and spoken English
• Attention to detail and able to work independently
• Basic computer skills
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Requirements

• Familiarity with captioning and transcribing (preferred)
• Good at editing written English (preferred)
• High fluency in written and spoken Spanish (preferred)
• High fluency in written and spoken other language (preferred)

• Pay: $11/hour
• This position will be completely remote with a flexible work schedule
