Role Description

As a Cantonese Video-Phone Interpreter, you will:

• Handle calls on demand, rendering the meaning of conversations between Cantonese and English speakers.
• Break communication barriers across various industries, including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.
• Process information quickly and concisely while recognizing sensitive cultural differences.
• Maintain professionalism and courtesy, using appropriate terminology and understanding common industry practices.
• Conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner during video and audio sessions.
• Deliver interpretation services via video and expediently type data on a dedicated device.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Remain calm during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations.
• Follow client instructions and maintain cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese and English, with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write in the requested languages is highly preferred.
