[Hiring] Buyer – Food Distribution @Ferraro Foods of New Jersey LLC

Role Description

At Ferraro Foods, our Buyers help keep operations moving by sourcing products, managing purchasing activity, and building strong supplier relationships that support customers across the food industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can balance purchasing priorities while supporting day-to-day operations across the business.

• Support purchasing operations by sourcing and ordering products from manufacturers and suppliers
• Help manage inventory levels and purchasing activity across the organization
• Coordinate purchasing activity and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
• Assist with pricing audits and purchasing-related reporting
• Monitor market trends, supplier activity, and competitive changes within the industry
• Support product sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship management
• Partner with internal teams regarding purchasing needs and inventory updates
• Assist with order entry, product inquiries, and purchasing-related requests as needed
• Support additional purchasing and operational initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

• Food industry experience required
• 2–5 years of purchasing, procurement, buying, inventory, or related experience preferred
• Experience working within foodservice distribution, wholesale distribution, or inventory-driven environments preferred
• Experience using purchasing, ERP, or inventory management systems preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills
• Customer service mindset with the ability to support internal and external partners
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Requirements

• Region: Northeast Region
• Work Location: Remote or onsite within the Northeast region
• Travel: Occasional travel based on business needs
• Schedule: Mon – Fri | Standard business hours
• Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
