[Hiring] Building Construction Plans Examiner I/II @Arlington County Government

Role Description

The Community Planning, Housing and Development (CPHD) Department is hiring a Construction Plans Examiner I/II to join its Inspection Services Division (ISD). The Examiner is responsible for examining construction documents for commercial structures/buildings, including:

• New construction
• Additions
• Alterations to existing buildings

The role ensures compliance with the building design standards adopted by the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC). Projects are complex due to:

• Size
• Multiplicity of structures
• Advanced design of installed systems
• Advanced construction methods and techniques

This position may also be responsible for reviewing other projects such as residential structures and one and two-family dwellings.

Qualifications

• Appropriate certifications for Construction Plans Examiner Level I or II

Benefits

• Salary range for Level I: $87,318.40 - $135,324.80
• Salary range for Level II: $91,707.20 - $142,168.00
