Role Description
The Bioinformatics Intern will evaluate published single cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis techniques, pipelines and methodologies to support improvements and modifications to our existing scRNA-seq bioinformatics pipelines. It is not expected that this role will require extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be expected to accurately and succinctly summarize their work in a 10-15 minute presentation at the culmination of their internship.
- Develop familiarity with the scRNA-seq technique and scRNA-seq analysis best practices.
- Work with Bioinformatics Scientists to identify and evaluate novel scRNA-seq analysis tools.
- Document their analysis, code and findings in detailed notebooks.
- Identify and propose improvements to existing scRNA-seq analysis pipelines.
- Prepare a short presentation describing their key findings.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Immunology, Biology, Mathematics or relevant field.
- Familiarity with Shell, R or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and comfortable taking initiative.
