Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Engineer – Biologics Drug Discovery to help evaluate and advance how AI reasoning agents solve complex therapeutic dataset challenges. Working at the intersection of software engineering and molecular biology, you will build ground-truth benchmark datasets from real-world antibody and protein engineering programs. Your hands-on expertise in variant ranking, enrichment analysis, and biophysical data interpretation will directly shape how we measure and advance AI capability in therapeutic discovery.

Duties & Responsibilities

• AI Benchmark & Dataset Development:
  • Construct, curate, and maintain high-quality ground-truth benchmark datasets drawn from real-world antibody, protein engineering, and biologics discovery programs.
• AI Evaluation & Decision-Making Analysis:
  • Design rigorous framework metrics (variant ranking, enrichment analysis, advancement prioritization) to test and evaluate how AI agents reason through complex therapeutic datasets.
• Biologics & Biophysical Data Interpretation:
  • Analyze and interpret binding kinetics (SPR/BLI), biophysical stability data, cell-based potency assays, and high-throughput antibody screens to establish accurate baseline scientific decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner directly with software engineers, machine learning researchers, and computational biologists to translate complex biological workflows into computational benchmarks.
• Variant & Target Optimization:
  • Apply domain expertise across antibody optimization (CDR engineering, VH/VL pairing), protein structure analysis (AlphaFold, docking, cryo-EM), or PK/PD modeling to validate benchmark accuracy.
• Quality & Validation Standards:
  • Ensure datasets strictly reflect the nuance, edge cases, and critical decision-making steps executed by human domain scientists in therapeutic pipelines.

Qualifications

• Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related quantitative life sciences discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in biologics discovery or development (e.g., antibody engineering, protein engineering, or cell/molecular biology-driven target validation).
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R for biological data analysis, visualization, and pipeline integration.
• Proven track record interpreting binding kinetics (SPR / BLI), biophysical stability data, and/or cell-based potency assays.
• Technical Domain Expertise (at least one of the following):
  • Antibody optimization (CDR engineering, VH/VL pairing, variant screening)
  • Protein structure analysis (AlphaFold, cryo-EM, docking)
  • High-throughput antibody or binding screening workflows
  • PK/PD modeling for biologics (target occupancy, half-life, clearance)
  • Bioprocess or manufacturability constraints

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with immunogenicity risk assessment.
• Hands-on experience with potency assay design (ELISA, cell-based, biochemical).
• Knowledge of CMC or GMP-adjacent bioprocess workflows.
• Proven leadership or management skills (eligible for senior/lead level placement).
