[Hiring] Azure Operations Architect @Skaylink

Role Description

Ready to architect secure, scalable Azure and hybrid platforms? Join Skaylink, part of Vodafone, and shape Azure and hybrid platforms for leading German companies combining architecture, operations, customer advisory, and technical leadership. This role is remote within Romania. If you are based in Cluj-Napoca, you also have the option to work from our office in a hybrid setup.

What you will do:

• Own Azure and hybrid platform architectures, including landing zones, networking, identity, security, resilience, and recovery.
• Advise customers on architecture, cost optimization, roadmaps, and technical decisions throughout the platform lifecycle.
• Lead complex escalations and major incidents, driving root-cause analysis and sustainable architectural improvements.
• Design hybrid environments across Azure, VMware/Hyper-V, Windows Server, Azure Arc/Azure Local, and hybrid identity and networking.
• Define and review Infrastructure as Code, automation, reference architectures, and operational standards with engineering and service teams.
• Act as the senior technical reference for the Romanian team and support customer workshops, presales, and transition into operations.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Azure architecture and operations experience, including production environments.
• Strong hybrid IT experience with VMware/Hyper-V, Windows Server, Azure Arc/Azure Local, networking, and Entra ID.
• Good knowledge of Azure landing zones, security, governance, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, using Bicep/Terraform and Azure DevOps/GitHub.
• Experience with managed services and customer advisory, including technical workshops, complex issues, and mentoring engineers.
• Strong English skills, structured problem-solving, and willingness to start around 06:00 EET, participate in the on-call rota, and travel occasionally to Germany.

Requirements

• German (B2+) is a big plus.
• Microsoft 365, Intune, Copilot, Power Platform, FinOps, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Entra Global Secure Access.
• Certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-802, SC-300, or SC-500.
