Role Description

Are you an experienced AutoCAD Drafter with a passion for producing high-quality permit drawing sets for luxury residential projects? Do you enjoy transforming approved designs into accurate technical documentation and collaborating with architects throughout the production process? We're looking for a Remote AutoCAD Drafter to support one of our clients in California, helping prepare permit sets for high-end single-family homes. This is a flexible, short-term opportunity, with alignment to U.S. time zones required.

What you'll do:

• Support the production and organization of permit drawing sets for luxury single-family residential projects.
• Transform approved schematic designs into complete technical documentation ready for city permit submission.
• Prepare DD and CD drawing sets, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and permit documentation.
• Set up CAD templates, including title blocks, cover sheets, general notes, and permit sheet layouts following studio standards and city requirements.
• Organize as-built drawings into separate Xrefs and CAD layers to maintain clear and efficient project files.
• Create and maintain individual CAD files for each floor plan using the correct origin point and project organization standards.
• Produce complete permit drawing packages for submission to local authorities.
• Address plan-check corrections received from the city and update drawing sets accordingly.
• Pick up redlines and incorporate revisions accurately throughout the documentation process.
• Assist with basic 3D modeling in SketchUp during the Design Development phase.
• At later project stages, prepare interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and other construction documentation required after permit submission.
• Collaborate closely with the client to ensure deliverables meet project expectations, timelines, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience as an AutoCAD Drafter.
• Proven experience producing permit sets for single-family residential projects.
• Experience working on luxury residential projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Solid experience with SketchUp for basic 3D modeling.
• Experience developing DD and CD documentation, including permit sets.
• Experience working with wood-frame residential construction.
• Strong understanding of permit documentation and construction drawing standards.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and production efficiency.
• Ability to work independently while delivering high-quality documentation in a remote environment.

Requirements

• Experience working on California residential projects and familiarity with local permitting requirements.
• Experience preparing documentation for city permit approvals and responding to plan-check comments.
• Experience producing reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, and additional construction details.
• Familiarity with CAD standards, Xrefs, and drawing organization for complex residential projects.
• Experience supporting projects from Design Development through Construction Documents.
