Role Description

This role involves scoring for the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA OP), which measures English language proficiency for adults whose primary language is not English.

• Evaluate challenging written responses based on a stringent set of rubrics.
• Score outlier responses that could not be assessed by the AI system.
• Make nuanced scoring decisions for responses that may not closely align with the prompts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student responses to open-ended questions reliably and score according to the provided scoring guide.
• Successfully internalize training materials and the customer scoring guide.
• Pass a qualifying test before beginning scoring.
• Apply the scoring guide without personal bias, adhering strictly to customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Successful completion of the Versant qualification test.
• Ability to maintain a secure and confidential work environment.

Requirements

• Access to a personal computer that meets the scoring system's specifications.
• Reliable internet service.
• Windows Users: Operating system must be Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10.
• Mac Users: Operating system must be OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7), Mountain Lion (10.8), Mavericks (10.9), or Yosemite (10.10).
• Stable high-speed internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for optimal performance.

Flexible Working Hours

This position offers flexible working hours, available 24/7, with a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. You have the freedom to choose your schedule within these parameters.
