Role Description

This is a client-facing claims management role responsible for coordinating and overseeing claims services across assigned construction accounts, spanning multiple lines of coverage. The position acts as the primary claims contact for clients and producers, translating program and claim information into clear strategies, service plans, and actionable recommendations that support clients’ broader risk and business objectives. Operating at a program and portfolio level rather than as a day-to-day claim analyst, this role focuses on claim reviews, stewardship, large loss monitoring, carrier engagement, and coordination with internal subject matter experts to ensure that claim handling, reporting, and advocacy are consistent, proactive, and aligned with the client’s expectations and the organization’s claims management standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders to support effective claims management and service delivery.
  • Provide strategic client advisory support by addressing claims-related inquiries, guiding claims processes, and ensuring effective communication and follow-through throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex or high-exposure claims, driving coordination and resolution across carriers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Communicate proactively with producers and internal management regarding significant claim developments, client concerns, and emerging risks.
  • Coordinate and direct all relevant claims to NFP Subject Matter Experts spanning all key construction-related lines of coverage.
  • Participate in acquisition and renewal meetings by presenting claims capabilities, developing tailored service materials, and analyzing loss data to support client-specific strategies.
  • Lead onboarding and re-onboarding processes, establishing claim protocols, reporting procedures, service plans, and key contacts; develop and distribute client claims profiles.
  • Monitor large losses and significant reserve changes, coordinating with claims leadership to evaluate impact and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate and lead structured claims reviews and high-exposure roundtables, guiding stakeholders on strategy, exposure management, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee claims audit processes for assigned accounts, including scoping, coordination with claims analysts, and preparation and presentation of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver pre-renewal stewardship reports summarizing claims performance, financials, trend analytics, and service deliverables.
  • Participate in client-facing stewardship meetings, presenting insights on claim trends, program performance, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage data analytics and benchmarking to identify trends, measure performance against industry standards, and recommend actionable strategies to reduce claim frequency, severity, and overall cost.
  • Deliver claims dashboards, loss summaries, and management reporting tools to provide visibility into claim status, key metrics, and emerging risks.
  • Oversee and optimize claims reporting processes to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent reporting, while enhancing workflows and data quality for improved decision-making.
  • Serve as a technical resource to C&I Team Members and other internal stakeholders on claims-related issues, processes, and escalation matters.
  • Participate in special projects and provide support on broader team initiatives or cross-functional assignments as needed.
  • Occasional travel to project kickoff meetings and client lunch-and-learn sessions as required.
  • Occasional travel to client prospect presentations as required to support business development efforts.
  • Attend industry conferences, seminars, and client meetings to remain informed of market developments and strengthen professional relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, and professional insurance designations, such as CPCU, AIC, ARM, and/or CRIS are advantageous.
  • 15+ years of experience managing construction claim programs, with strong exposure to various lines of coverage.
  • Direct experience with OCIP/CCIP wrap-up programs and construction project placements.
  • Extensive experience leading or participating in claim reviews, stewardship meetings, and large loss discussions.
  • Solid litigation experience and comfort discussing litigation strategy, reserve issues, and resolution options.
  • Active property and casualty adjuster license preferred.
  • Broad understanding of how construction insurance lines integrate.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across work groups and develop/maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the claim adjustment process.
  • Familiarity with vendor management and litigation strategies.
  • Solid understanding of financial, actuarial, and reserving concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with data/BI or dashboard tools.
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation and experience in a client-facing advisory role.
  • Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, ambiguous situations.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • PTO & paid holidays.
  • 401(k) with match.
  • Exclusive discount programs.
  • Health & wellness programs.
  • Base salary range: $110,000 to $150,000, determined by various factors.
  • Potential for performance-based incentives.
