[Hiring] Arborist Freelancer @Overstory

Role Description

We’re looking for a USA based mid-career arborist to work closely with our Lead Arborist on analyzing imagery to identify tree species and health.

• Identify declining trees on satellite images
• Identify tree species on satellite images
• Quality control the work of our team (ex. correct tree species, hazard trees, tree height, vegetation encroachment, and overhang, etc.)

Qualifications

• Experience as a forester or arborist, ideally ISA Certified Arborist
• Well versed with GIS tools like QGIS and ArcGIS
• Experience interpreting tree characteristics from satellite images
• Strong attention to detail
• Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills in a fast-paced environment
• Team player that seeks out feedback
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

• 10-20 hours per week contract
• Indefinite contractor agreement
• Seasonal work with busy times and slower times; hours will fluctuate accordingly
