Role Description
Eurofins Scientific is seeking an Application Support Engineer to become a valued member of our successful team. He is responsible for supporting internal IT application users with application uptime and requests with the capability to support cloud and on-premise application services. This may require interaction with potential or current users of our organisation across the globe. This person will participate as an effective member of a passionate, highly skilled, collaborative team that is a backbone of IT solutions delivered.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to incidents and handle support requests for a variety of technologies related to eESB (Eurofins Enterprise Service Bus) services over cloud architecture.
- Have project responsibilities, executing on improvements and automation identified by them or others on the team, and own small projects within their respective area.
- As a queue owner, be responsible for the general health of the queue, resolving tickets, identifying trends, finding the technical cause of problems, and recommending and implementing process/system changes to eliminate incoming workload.
- Optimize team processes, diagnose problems to the root cause, and resolve them, escalating where appropriate.
- Participate in a team 24×5 weekly rotation, with potential for extended off-shift time planned in advance, generally associated with project work where maintenance windows need to be observed.
This is a L2 support position requiring a deep understanding and technical expertise to apply in a hands-on environment. While not a hard requirement, experience with Azure, AWS, and cloud development is a plus.
Qualifications
- BE / MCA, or any other equivalent degree in Computer Science.
Requirements
- 5-8 years experience in Application Support.
- ITIL framework knowledge.
- Strong in Unix/Linux, Java fundamentals.
- Working experience with Cloud (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and perform in a small team.
- Mandatory experience with message-oriented Middleware like Active MQ or MSMQ.
- Knowledge of DevOps framework.
- Performance monitoring on SolarWinds.
- Reporting tools, Service Now, Grafana reporting.
- Knowledge on Version control tools like GIT Hub.
- Shell scripting.
- Application/Domain: Middleware technologies.
