Role Description

This part-time, seasonal position will manage key aspects of the domestic application review process, including:

• Training Miami’s AI-powered OCR transcript-reading tool.
• Training readers and monitoring performance.
• Reading application files.
• Making application corrections.
• Performing GPA recalculations.

This position is approved for remote work. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.

Qualifications

• Permanent address in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1+ years of experience reviewing admission applications for Miami University.
• Prior professional experience working in Slate.

Requirements

• Train and quality-check Miami’s AI-powered OCR software to assist in the standardization and review of high school transcripts.
• Buddy-read with new readers, assessing their review and recommendations to provide follow-up and instructions until approved to read without oversight.
• Read applications.
• Monitor all applications with problematic data points, making corrections as needed, completing the review if possible, and/or sending the app to the territory reader or supervisor to follow up if necessary.
• Check and correct or recalculate all incorrect GPAs in application files.
• Adhere to review deadlines throughout the application cycle.
• Support Office of Admission internal staff in the designated Slack channel and/or via email, responding in a timely fashion to complex questions about transcript review.
• Other duties as assigned.
