Role Description

The Analyst works collaboratively within a team of highly qualified Advisory consultants to deliver performance improvement to healthcare systems. This position will be primarily responsible for performing billable work for clients. The role of the Analyst is to actively participate within an engagement team to:

• Determine our client’s needs
• Analyze and interpret data
• Evaluate potential solutions
• Develop presentation materials
• Assist in the implementation of recommended improvements

The Analyst participates in all aspects of an engagement including:

• Identifying issues
• Forming hypotheses
• Planning and participating in interviews
• Conducting analyses
• Synthesizing conclusions into insights and recommendations
• Synthesizing information into cohesive presentations for various audiences
• Helping to implement change

The Analyst interacts with clients and is expected to build working relationships within the Premier/Client team. This position takes a broad approach to problem solving and develops an understanding of our client’s needs and expectations.

Analysts are required to also participate in Premier internal activities including:

• Practice development
• Required and approved educational opportunities throughout the year
• Learning the various technologies Premier offers to its clients

Additionally, the Analyst should:

• Maintain utilization targets for client billable projects
• Create value through meaningful client interactions, data analytics and insights, and team participation on client projects
• Create value for the Advisory practice through meaningful participation on practice related activities aimed at growing and enriching the Practice as a whole or individual Service Lines within the Practice

Responsibilities

• Responsibility #1 – 60%
  • Obtain data, execute or coordinate analyses, initiate interpretations and conclusions, and prepare verbal and graphic presentations, using methods that are professionally sound and efficient relative to project objectives and conform to standards of the firm.
  • Generate billings revenue by conducting assigned analyses, writing and preparing reports, and assisting clients in implementing desired changes.
  • Define detailed business requirements by working in tandem with team members to effectively interview clients to clarify project objectives; document customer “wants” and “needs.”
  • Create and prepare presentations and deliverables for client audiences that communicate strategy and outcomes.
  • Actively listen for market opportunities on current engagements and collaborative networks and communicate potential leads to managers.
  • Deliver content for projects.
• Responsibility #2 – 20%
  • Participate in practice development activities for the Advisory Services Practice overall or for Service Lines within the Practice.
• Responsibility #3 – 15%
  • Learn Premier based technologies and services.
• Responsibility #4 – 5%
  • Complete all required training requirements on an annual basis.

Qualifications

• Years of Applicable Experience - 0 or more years
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Requirements

• Awareness of medical device, pharmaceutical, and healthcare market trends and key hospital competitor’s activities
• Client and healthcare industry, complex analytics containing "what if" scenario planning, financial scenarios (cost and reimbursement) and combining multiple data sets
• Understand risk management practices; identifies, communicates, and responds to potential risks and escalates issues to manager
• Assist in determining client needs by gathering and researching data, utilizing common tools and analytical methods
• Statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, Matlab, etc.) preferred
• Power BI preferred
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Tableau, Business Intelligence
• Experience in healthcare, business or finance analytics
• Demonstrated interest in healthcare finance, operations and supply chain
• Demonstrated capability to act in a self-directed role, prioritize workload and show value from their efforts
• Bachelor's degree
• Lean Process Improvement; Six Sigma
