Role Description

We are currently seeking two (2) part-time, permanent 9-8-8 Hub Supervisor (Overnight) (Bilingual) to join the team. A 9-8-8 Hub Supervisor works within the clinical operations team of the 9-8-8 Hub and supports the 9-8-8 National Hub responders. As part of the supervision team, the daytime supervisor is responsible for providing real-time support to responders and ensuring they provide the best possible support to service users in line with the 9-8-8 Suicide and Support Helpline.

Responsibilities

• Offer real-time coaching, feedback and emotional support/debriefing to responders.
• Ensure adherence to program standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Assist responders in determining when to intervene or report as required, both in discussion and in making report.
• Participate in quality assurance tasks such as:
  • Review contact reports, recorded interactions and text transcripts.
  • Provide assessments, feedback, and recommendations as part of the responder evaluation process.
• Assist the training team as needed:
  • Provide support, supervision, and feedback to trainee responders.
  • Assist with roleplays and other relevant training activities during virtual training sessions.
  • Participate in mentoring shifts.
  • Provide assessments, feedback, and recommendations as part of the trainee evaluation process.
• Other duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of experience as a responder.
• Sound knowledge of the principles and skills relating to crisis intervention and best practices in suicide prevention.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrate empathy, flexibility, and adaptability in varying situations.
• Excellent listening and communication skills in both English and French.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and flexibility to work various shifts.
• Adhere strictly to confidentiality policies as outlined by 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline and CAMH.

Requirements

• Availability for a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work on short notice.
• A dedicated, private workspace within the home, equipped with essential tools and resources.
• A computer with secure internet access, a telephone headset or a hands-free device.

• Hiring Salary Range: $65,260.62 – $81,575.78 per year (based on qualifications and experience).
