[Hiring] Account Manager @USP

Role Description

The Account Manager is leading the execution of the commercial strategy for USP portfolio of standards and materials in a West Coast United States territory. This is an important, non-supervisory role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and accelerating USP’s impact across the pharmaceutical industry in the United States.

In this role, you will be accountable for meeting revenue and units growth annual targets in your assigned territory. To achieve this, you will:

• Foster customer relationships at all levels.
• Collaborate with multiple internal USP functions including Technical and Customer Service, Marketing, Regulatory, and Scientific Affairs.
• Conduct regular account management and business development customer visits.
• Follow up on business leads and engage in lead generation activities.
• Lead the creation and execution of account plans to position USP portfolio of standards for long-term growth.
• Identify, understand, and support resolution of key quality challenges faced by pharmaceutical drug developers and manufacturers.

This is a remote position requiring 60% domestic travel, based in West Coast (Los Angeles preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline (preferably analytical chemistry, chemistry).
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in the life sciences industry.
• At least 3 years of experience as an account manager in the life sciences industry.
• Proven experience in selling products or services to pharma and biopharma accounts.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical drugs manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and clinical development processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analytical platforms (e.g., Tableau), and CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
