Role Description

The District Manager is responsible for the financial and cultural success of the district and how the assigned district impacts and contributes to the overall value and strength of the team. They will lead and develop a team of General Managers (and Area Managers) who lead a portfolio of 8 company-owned stores throughout the Alabama, Tennessee, and Northern Florida areas. Success in this role comes from setting and hitting goals, developing talent, and creating a culture of high performance and high fun.

This role requires abilities in people planning and business strengths, in meeting sales plans and retention metrics to both produce results in existing stores and develop a talent pipeline and operational excellence to open new stores with ease. This role is uniquely positioned to drive company growth and lead into the future.

Annual Salary range: $93,000 to $100,000

Bonus: Quarterly bonus potential

Responsibilities

  • Develop General Managers (and Area Managers) who exceed guest expectations, grow sales and maximize profit.
  • Ensure all stores are adequately staffed with quality Shift Leaders, and where applicable, Assistant General Managers.
  • Maintain management depth by regularly planning for succession, actively recruiting and critically selecting internal and external General Manager candidates.
  • Provide timely and thoughtful feedback; consistently demonstrate active and timely coaching capabilities.
  • Offer guidance to leaders regarding personal development opportunities and career paths.
  • Monitor and participate in all levels of training from new Team Member through District Manager.
  • Manage the district Profit and Loss (P&L), including General and Administration.
  • Utilize and interpret P&L and financial statements to analyze financial trends and make necessary adjustments.
  • Assist General Managers in the timely resolution of all issues, including employee/customer relations, supply chain management, and asset management.
  • Follow up on all customer and employee complaints and ensure necessary corrective measures at the store level.
  • Use financial planning knowledge to manage budgets for stores, self, and company, day-to-day, and for the future.
  • Coordinate all activities associated with timely new store openings.
  • Ensure effective communication (top down and bottom up) throughout the district, region, and company.
  • Utilize communication tools such as Outlook, monthly General Manager meetings, and monthly store meetings.
  • Develop creative team member engagement strategies and foster a culture of continuous internal growth and development.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-4 years of restaurant or retail multi-unit management experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Experience analyzing financial reports (Profit and Loss, Income Statement, etc.).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early hours as 3am depending on the bakery, some nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post High School education or college degree.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Little exposure to chemicals or potential exposure to smoke; not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
