Role Description
The Regional Director-Clinical Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to clinical leadership teams across multiple facilities, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, evidence-based addiction treatment services. This role partners closely with on-site Clinical Directors to strengthen clinical operations, standardize care processes, and ensure clinical documentation supports medical necessity, continuity of care, and positive patient outcomes.

A primary focus is driving clinical excellence through strong documentation compliance, adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and thoughtful program design that supports patient engagement and retention.

Identifies trends impacting patient flow—including AMA and ACA occurrences—and leads system-wide initiatives to reduce premature discharges through improved clinical structure, therapist support, group programming, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Supports consistency and quality across levels of care (detox, residential, PHP, and IOP) by guiding clinical leaders on best practices related to treatment planning, clinical decision-making, and coordination of care.

Requires deep expertise in addiction treatment modalities, clinical leadership experience across multiple levels of care, and a strong working knowledge of CARF and ASAM standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred

Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent required

8-10 years related experience required, 10+ years related experience preferred

Extensive knowledge of addiction treatment modalities and best practices

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals

Strong understanding of utilization management principles and practices

Experience with CARF and ASAM accreditation processes

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Proven track record of successful program development and implementation
Requirements

Provide strategic direction and support to clinical directors and UM directors at individual facilities

Support UM directors at individual locations to ensure appropriate use of services

Evaluate and improve existing programs based on corporate-wide patient outcomes and feedback

Stay current with industry trends and best practices to inform corporate strategy

Oversee and support the development and implementation of the EMR

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Appeals and Denials Case Managers

Review appeal outcomes and metrics, ensuring that the team meets established goals related to accuracy, timeliness, and resolution efficiency

Oversee the development and implementation of corporate-wide clinical policies and procedures

Monitor and evaluate clinical performance metrics across all facilities
-
Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
-
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations at a corporate level
