[Hiring] Senior Java Engineer @brainberry

Role Overview:

As a Senior Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our technical vision. You will own the entire tech stack, and work closely with our talented team of engineers, providing guidance and support while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, cloud infrastructure, and building customer focused applications will be crucial in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• You contribute across product development and maintenance of core product features. You will be taking new ideas from concept to production and monitoring how they behave post production
• Work closely and collaborate with the stakeholders to help business achieve its goals. Have a strong product mindset so you don’t only build new features, but also understand the why behind them and use data to make actionable improvements
• Develop and maintain reliable and resilient services, and continuously strive to build fault tolerant and highly available systems
• You write clean and testable code and strongly rely on Test Driven Development to test your changes and improve code quality
• Assessing the growing infrastructure needs of the organisation, proactively looking for ways to address the operational challenges and continually improve our codebase, systems, and processes
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluate their potential applicability to our product, and make informed recommendations for adoption.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience (5+ years) in developing software solutions using a JVM language, experience in a fast growing startup environment is a plus.

- Experience in backend development, API design, and devops. Ideally, you have contributed to full-stack development and .

- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud architecture, with a track record of delivering scalable and high-quality software solutions.

- You understand the challenges of building scalable and high performance distributed systems and understand the nuances of a distributed architecture

- Solid understanding of SQL/NOSQL databases and data abstraction layers such as Hibernate

- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or similar cloud provide

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions in a dynamic environment.
