Your Role:

The Staff Developer will work under the direction of a Senior Architect to build custom software solutions using modern web technologies, creating innovative solutions and collaborating with the product and engineering teams to implement new features and plan for future Constellation capabilities.  The right candidate for this job will have the aptitude to learn the application and the tools to advance the application forward.  We look for our developers to be ambitious and self-directed with a passion for Agile-based, AWS cloud-native development. You will be eager to learn software product development experience across the full stack of user interface, API, and data access.  You will also learn the basics of Cloud based DevOps and its supporting services and tools.

Responsibilities: 

• Development of the Constellation platform across its full life cycle.
• Developing functional and responsive mobile and web applications.
• Maintaining the quality, performance, and responsiveness of the platform.
• Collaborating with the Technical Architect to design, develop, and launch new features.
• Engaging in all aspects of release cycles, including requirements review, work estimation, design, implementation, testing, and review.
• Providing last-line application support to internal teams and external customers.
• Time will be spent developing UI to Web API and everything in between. 
• Java, Spring Boot, Docker and ECS , AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Node.js/JavaScript, Sequelize for MSSQL.
• EKS, EC2, Athena, Kinesis (streams and firehose), SNS, SQS, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudFront, S3, and IAM services are nice to have.
• HTML5 and related frameworks, React, React native
• REST APIs using micro services architecture.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience required
• Strong technical and architectural education / project experience working with modern frameworks, patterns and practice.
• Internship with a software company or software development related internship preferred
• Understanding of server-side languages including Node.js and JAVA
• Understanding of fundamental front-end languages including HTML5, JavaScript, Less/CSS and JSON
• Understanding of JavaScript frameworks including Reactjs and jquery.
• Familiarity with relational database design and technologies including NoSQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of developing solutions in a cloud environment, including knowledge of AWS Services (Lambda, EKS, ECS, EC2, DynamoDb, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudFront, S3, and IAM services).
• Experience working with DevOps teams in establishing automated build, test and deployment environments.
