Shape is a digital service provider for industrial companies that has a clear mission: to transform data into substantial and sustainable business value through innovative digital solutions.

Shape emerged from an initiative within MODEC focused on applying Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics tools for predictive maintenance solutions. The results obtained were quite convincing, such as a significant reduction in downtime and the recognition of the company as Global Lighthouse of Industry 4.0 by the World Economic Forum. This prompted the spin-off of this initiative to serve various industries globally.

In shape's establishment process, we have MODEC and MITSUI as strategic partners and Microsoft and McKinsey as technology partners. In this way, we combine experience and centenary know-how with the agility and power of customization characteristics of a startup.

Shape's objectives are to use available data to increase plant availability, reduce maintenance costs, and prevent or delay investments in CAPEX and/or OPEX. Predictive maintenance solutions are based on three pillars:

1. Integrating data from any sources that are available (sensors or systems) into a central platform that facilitates operation access and creates a "single source of truth" so that applications can use them easily and in a fraction of the time and cost.

2. From the integrated data, development and implementation of predictive models, which prescribe actions in anticipation of failures and anomalies that have a high probability of materializing in. Alerts and alarms generate insights for maintenance teams to act accurately to avoid production losses, excessive costs with emergency interventions, and increase operation predictability.

3. Ensure that the generated value is captured, through training of operation and maintenance teams, engineering support and customization of tools.

Shape's solutions are unique in the market, because they are highly customizable and scalable, because they meet the specific needs of customers, and for using data from the entire plant to make inferences about their equipment. While typical solutions look at basic variables such as vibration and its harmonics, Shape goes beyond predictive models for insulated equipment, offering a scalable holistic predictive maintenance solution for the entire plant and its respective systems.

Finally, the operator experience is always prioritized through an interface with intuitive use, which optimizes the delivery of insights in alarms and accurate alerts, facilitating the performance of the operation and maintenance teams.
