Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS) is a fast-growing not-for-profit organization whose mission strengthens educator and system leader’s capacity to break down barriers increasing participation, belonging, and success in rigorous college- and career-prep secondary school courses for students of color and low-income students. They are currently in 800 schools, over 250 districts, and across 33 states helping students enroll in AP and IB programs and significantly expanding.

Equal Opportunity Schools seeks a Vice President of Partnership Development to lead strategic partnerships nationwide with schools, and school districts. They want a leader who has demonstrated passion for social responsibility and is in tune with today’s racial disparity in education. The Vice President of Partnership Development will lead a team that develops incredible educational partnerships nationwide.



what you will do…
  • Lead a high-performing Partnership Development team.
  • Recruit, mentor, retain, and develop a diverse and geographically dispersed top partnerships team.
  • Develop a national growth strategy and measure the missional impact on students across the country.
  • Partner with educational Superintendents to establish strategic partnerships and grow existing relationships in educational entities through federal, state, regional, districts, and school systems.
  • Create and deliver presentations and be a keynote speaker in educational forums, special interest groups, and for potential clients or partners.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with state and regional service centers to continually educate and inform their regions on the success of our products and services in their communities.
  • Design a long-term national plan and integration strategy targeting AP, IB and AICE programs in high schools.
  • Fuel the capacity to grow by staying abreast of changes in federal, state, and local funding streams and categorical finance structures; leverage approved funding streams available in each school district nationwide.
  • Develop and manage the department budget to maximize resource investments, track expenditures, and determine future investment opportunities.
  • Create key performance indicators to inform the business initiatives and strategy and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

what you need to have…
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in the educational environment designing and building high-performing teams.
  • Passion for equity and experience working in multi-ethnic environments with an understanding of demographic shifts and diversity impacting schools and communities.
  • Strong commitment and experience working to improve social justice and racial discrimination issues within schools, foundations, and/or government agencies.
  • Champion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
  • Proven ability to effectively manage budgets and create strong returns on investments
  • Excellent experience in creating presentations and delivering keynote speeches on education-related topics.
  • Experience working with or having been a school Superintendent with a deep understanding of a school system’s new product implementation cycle.
  • Exceptional program/project management skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement efforts cross-functionally.
  • Experience with federal and state funding and leading in a non-profit or K – 12 educational programs environment is a strong plus.
  • BS / BA and Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility to travel 40%
