Sales Director (Hardware)

Lightmatter builds chips for artificial intelligence computing as well as the most capable interconnect platforms in the market. We are looking for a key Strategic Accounts Director, Director of Sales that will allow us to scale our wafer level silicon photonics interconnect engagements at some of the world's largest semiconductor companies.

We are now looking for an outstanding candidate with a proven Sales track record in HPC, AI or Semiconductor IP to lead our most significant account engagements.

In this role, you will be an expert at navigating fortune 500 companies and work closely with their key stakeholders to understand their needs, leverage the strength of Lightmatter's internal teams to meet those needs, and obtain commits for use of our products. Together in partnership with our customers, will change the way HPC and AI are built and deployed moving forward.

This is a high visibility role, where your inputs will directly affect the focus and strategy of the entire company. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will be responsible for driving existing accounts as well as initiating and closing revenue generating agreements across your targets. The VP of Sales and CEO will also be relying on you as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of target customers; being the CEO of the account and the authoritative link between them and Lightmatter
  • Drive strong sales conversations that uncover core motivators for customer decision-making, as well as overlay Lightmatter solutions to address those needs
  • Leverage strong communication skills and close relationships with your Lightmatter support team to drive agreements to closure
  • Provide input as the ‘voice of the customer’ into Lightmatter’s go-to-market strategy
  • Drive the long-term success of the US Enterprise and Datacenter team by being a collaborative leader among your peers.
  • Understand the selling/buying cycle within the target customer space and ensure Lightmatter is in sync with customer demand.
  • Provide forecasts defining both SAM and SOM targets for each key consumer
  • Responsible for selling Lightmatter products to new and/or existing clients and developing or expanding accounts with key, strategic accounts that are of significant strategic importance to Lightmatter and will have a major impact on the long-term success of the company
  • Interact with C-level through engineering at the world’s largest semi and systems companies
  • Lead presentations in a concise and accurate manner conveying key aspects of Lightmatter’s value proposition in an impactful manner.

Requirements

  • Must have 10+ years of HPC system or semiconductor sales
  • BS degree in a technical field
  • 3+ years of HPC/Network/Interconnect sales experience
  • Demonstrable track record of revenue growth and ability to close greenfield opportunities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to effectively interface with management and engineering
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Qualified candidates must be located near major airports in the USA and be open to travel as needed

On target earnings range: $280,000 to $300,000. In accordance with the Colorado, California, and New York laws, the range provided is Lightmatter's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Actual pay will be based on several factors, including work experience, location, and education.
