Part of this mission is achieved through partnering with global clients, such as Microsoft, and working with them to supply bespoke and licensed content that helps achieve their product marketing goals. This is a successful part of the Packt business that we are looking to expand. We are looking for a new Partnerships Executive to help drive the development of further business partnerships across the world in education and IT markets. We are looking for a candidate who will be proactive and passionate, capable of creating their own sales leads as well as rapidly converting centrally driven enquiries.
Reporting directly to the Partnerships Manager, you will generate new potential partnership leads and create account plans designed to meet key objectives and key measures. You will also meet with regularly with potential accounts, understanding and recording their key challenges and requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable making outbound sales calls and have strong relational, written, and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with clients preferably in the technology or publishing domain. You will able to research and meet with potential clients, build networks, and make connections with vendor contacts. You will have a start-up mentality, looking to rapidly test and learn within this space to ensure success.
The role involves working with a diverse team spread across different time zones. You will also develop and maintain multiple global contacts, with many potential clients being based in the US, requiring a degree of flexibility regarding working hours.


Responsibilities

  • Drive lead generation activities around meeting with prospective accounts
  • Research potential client accounts and ascertain their challenges and needs
  • Coordinate meetings with potential client accounts
  • Respond to inbound partnership requests and schedule meetings
  • Maintain and update lead generation and account activity in our Sales CRM
  • Create detailed account plans designed to attain predetermined goals and targets.
  • Support Partnerships Manager on enterprise projects
  • Confidently present Packt's product suite and capabilities to clients
  • Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data
    Provide professional support to partners to maximise customer loyalty and articulate Packt's value in the partnership
  • Resolve issues with integrity and protect Packt's brand
  • Proactively drive recommendations into existing clients to optimise usage of our services

Capabilities

  • Experience as an Account Executive or similar
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and CRM software.
  • Organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical skills able to analyse and tell stories about data
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about delivering value to partners and the business
  • Able to work autonomously and take the initiative
  • Have the flexibility to accommodate late afternoon/early morning calls with international clients
  • BSc or BA in Business Administration, Sales or Marketing and/or experience in Publishing, Education or Technology is a plus (recent graduates in these fields are welcome to apply)
