Spotted Zebra is growing at a phenomenal rate and this means some really exciting growth within our engineering function too. Reporting into the Head of Engineering you will work in a cross-functional product team that is globally distributed.

Your biggest challenge is balancing automation with manual testing, managing test data, addressing non-deterministic tests, and conducting performance testing are key challenges faced while ensuring effective test coverage and quality in a dynamic technology environment. You will also be involved in choosing and deploying new tools that can improve our quality control process together with the Head of Engineering. As well as collaborating with our teams to refine our processes and make quality an intrinsic part of the product development process.

• Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation across multiple products
• Champion our quality standards for the engineering function
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and designers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage
• Conduct exploratory testing when required
• Design, develop and execute test cases for functional and non-functional testing
• Write clear and concise test reports, defects and maintain test documentation
• Working closely with the product team to investigate customer issues, testing bugs and managing defect reports
• Working with deployment teams offering inputs on the testability of functional elements and product designs
• As an innovative thinker, challenge the existing testing solutions and procedures, find innovative ways to improve and optimise them wherever possible, and diligently implement the enhancements
• Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, technologies and testing methodologies

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright or Selenium
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) any of the following tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI etc.
• Experience with software engineering languages, such as Java or TypeScript or JavaScript
• Comprehensive knowledge of the latest test environments and methodologies, including the popular 'shift left' approach.
• Experience with testing APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Although we’re searching for someone to join our engineering team as an SDET, we’re open to a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer transitioning into an SDET position if you have some experience with automation tools and processes.
