[Hiring] Senior Manager, European Communications @Roblox

Roblox is seeking an EU communications professional to manage consumer and corporate communications for the platform across priority markets.

You should be confident in educating and influencing editorial media, an understanding of the media and cultural landscape across several EU markets, experience developing strategic plans and creative ideas that delivered impactful media coverage results, and experience as a public-facing company spokesperson. Knowledge and experience with immersive 3D technology and user-generated content is preferred.

You will accomplish localized communications campaigns in the EU, with a focus on Germany and France, aimed at influencing several audiences - from Gen Z consumers, to the local creator/developer community, to local brands and policymakers - showcasing the range of user-generated virtual experiences on Roblox, the role of developers & creators in the growing virtual economy on the platform, and our commitment to safety and civility.

You will have managed agency partners and worked for a global company. You will work in collaboration with communication agency partners in Germany and France, and will report to the Senior Director of International Communications. You will work remotely and based either in Brussels or in the UK. #LI-remote

We ask that you have fluent language skills in English and German. Additional language skills in French, Italian and Spanish are a plus.

You Will:

• Design and implement compelling communications campaigns in Germany and France to support our goals, in partnership with communications agencies on the ground in those markets
• Lead local market media outreach in Germany and France in support of global communications campaigns and announcements, including virtual experience launches, product launches, and executive profiling
• Work in collaboration with a range of departments to support their communications goals in the EU - including, but not exclusive to, our Marcomms, Public Policy, Civility, Brand Partnerships and Developer Relations functions
• Proactively secure and host briefings with top tier journalist and reporters in Germany and France to educate them about the platform
• Manage Roblox's inbound press office function in the EU and be the first contact for journalists in the region
• Be a public-facing spokesperson for Roblox in media interviews and at EU events and conferences
• Bring fresh ideas and a creative approach to deliver measurable, attributable results

You Have:

• 6+ years of experience (preferably at a global public company in the consumer tech, entertainment, media or gaming space) in consumer and/or corporate communications
• Fluent language skills in German (required) and French (a plus)
• Proven skill and passion for building relationships with influential media and successfully delivering high-impact placements and features (strong existing relationships with top tier technology and/or consumer lifestyle journalists in Germany a plus)
• Experience at developing impactful proactive PR campaigns (specifically placing tech innovation-focused stories a plus)
• Experience supporting a variety of in-house departments and serving their communications needs (experience of Public Policy and of campaigns aimed at informing EU decision makers a plus)
• Excellent written and communication skills, with the confidence to produce content for different markets, channels and media
• Proven experience handling and responding to inbound press enquiries in a fast-paced environment
• Experience at managing multiple communication agencies in an in-house communications role
• Experience and confidence being a public-facing spokesperson in media interviews, including broadcast interviews (experience as a speaker at major events and conferences a plus)
