[Hiring] Digital Marketing & E-commerce Fellow @Climb Hire

Apr 21, 2023 - Climb Hire is hiring a remote Digital Marketing & E-commerce Fellow. 📍Location: USA.

The Climb Hire Story

Three years ago, we had a hypothesis. Everywhere we looked, companies complained about the "war for talent," and the impossible task of finding gritty, entry-level candidates for their open roles. At the same time, we noticed that there was a dearth of hungry, fresh talent out there with tons of aptitude and drive, largely stuck in a cycle of under and unemployment whilst flying under the radar screen of tech and corporate America. They lacked robust professional networks and the skills to "break in." Thus, Climb Hire was born - grounded in the idea that by blending social capital-building, skills-based training, and community, we could close the experience chasm and get companies the diverse and determined talent they want and need.

We launched in 2019 with seed funding from Schmidt Futures, the Gates Foundation, Google, and others and have more than 5 x'ed our impact and budget in under three years. Since then, hundreds of people have gone through our unique training and have landed incredible jobs with companies like Google, Salesforce, Discord, IBM, BetterUp, Galileo, and more. Average wage gains are $20-30k, ~60% above the industry standard. We’ve also been riding the growth rocketship, expanding to over 20 cities nationwide and growing our internal team over 3x in just one year. We plan to serve over 1,000 Climbers in 2023 and beyond. On the program side, we’ve grown from one to three training tracks: Salesforce Administrator, Google Project Management, and Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce.

About the Position

Climb Hire seeks a dynamic, outgoing, and rigorously accountable Fellow to help launch our inaugural Digital Marketing & E-commerce learning track. The Digital Marketing & E-commerce Fellow will support the Program Manager to execute technical and professional development skills curriculum focused on the Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce certification, job search, and job readiness skills. The current curriculum consists of 160 hours of synchronous online training over 24 weeks. With this inaugural cohort, we aim to serve 150 learners to scale and increase our impact.

The ideal candidate is committed to giving back to young adults who are striving to overcome various adversities; have the desire to strengthen their facilitation and professional skills; join a community; and collaborate on a team.

This is a remote, contract role.

Position Responsibilities

  • Attend 3 hours of direct, in-session instruction a week on Tuesdays or Thursdays (Tuesdays are preferred).
  • Attend a weekly 1.5-hour meeting with the Program Manager and Fellows to prepare for sessions and practice session facilitation.
  • Host weekly 1-on-1 or group sessions with Climbers (program participants) about technical and professional development skills.
  • Provide coaching, training, mentoring, and support for Climbers to ensure program outcomes.
  • Communicate consistent, individualized feedback regarding Climber performance to mentees, Fellows, and Climb Hire staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of Climber progress and attendance on Salesforce.

About The Company

Climb Hire’s mission is to create economic opportunity and mobility.

We train and prepare diverse and determined working adults earning below the livable wage for entry-level jobs in corporate America via four distinct learning tracks: Salesforce Administrator, Customer Experience, Google Project Management, and Financial Services. Most Climbers are between the ages of 22 and 40 and the majority do not hold four-year degrees. We’re not just a class, we’re a community. Relationship-building is at the core of our model, since we know that 9 out of 10 job seekers land roles through warm connections versus applying cold. Our community is built on “paying it forward”: we forge a network of peers and alumni who empower each other in every way, through job referrals and emotional and intellectual support. 80% of our first and second cohorts secured jobs that increased their income 2-3x.

Climbers gain, on average, $20k in their new roles. Climb Hire is a national organization headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are expanding rapidly across the country and are poised to grow by 3-10x in the next two years.
