Mode Mobile is seeking a dynamic US-based Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who possesses a sharp financial intellect coupled with strong operational management skills. Your responsibilities in our fully remote company will span beyond traditional financial management and strategy. In fact, you will play a crucial role in guiding the Customer Success function, ensuring that our users gain maximum value from what we offer.
Your expertise will be pivotal in driving both the financial and operational pillars of Mode Mobile, positioning us for continued growth and evolution. Who You Are and What You’ll Do
Financial & Operational Leadership:
- Manage financial and accounting operations, ensuring stability and exploring opportunities for growth.
- Develop strategies to optimize and increase revenue through various channels and initiatives.
- Ensure robust cash flow management and develop strategies to ensure financial stability.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the LTV to CAC ratio, ensuring efficient customer acquisition and maximizing customer value.
- Possess solid B2C consumer understanding
- Lead budgeting process, ensuring allocations align with strategic objectives and operational needs.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Design and refine financial models to support decision-making, scenario planning, and strategy formulation.
- Oversee operations, including the customer success function, ensuring alignment with financial and business objectives.
Strategic and Operational Planning:
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive committee to shape and guide the company's overall business strategy.
- Streamline operational processes and implement systems that enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Lead the Customer Success team to enhance user experience, retention, and lifetime value.
- Identify areas for financial growth and leverage metrics to maximize profitability.
Funding & Investment Management:
- Lead all fundraising initiatives, including crowdfunding, engaging with potential investors, and various other strategies.
- Develop and maintain trusting relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the evolving SEC guidelines and integrate necessary changes to maintain company compliance.
- Understand the complexities and requirements for a successful public listing and desire to guide the company through the preparatory phases of an IPO.
- Possess a solid understanding of creative financing formats, including Reg A+, Reg S, Reg D, and Reg CF.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure financial compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and manage the audit process.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance and operations teams to support the company’s growth trajectory and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Recruitment & Development: Attract, retain, and develop talent, ensuring your teams are skilled and aligned with our organizational objectives and values.
- Represent financial and operational strategies and results to the board of directors.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among different departments.
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
- 5+ years in a CFO role, with proven experience managing financial and operational facets in a startup and public company context, navigating through phases of substantial growth and challenges.
- Solid experience in raising capital through various platforms, including crowdfunding and venture capital.
- Strong operational experience with the ability to drive revenue and optimize performance across the organization.
- Exceptional knowledge of financial processes and functions.
- Ability to anticipate trends and envision long-term company strategy.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing operational functions.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and nurture high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to articulate financial data and strategies to diverse audiences from team members to stakeholders.
- A natural curiosity to deeply understand various aspects of the business and a willingness to get into the details to ensure comprehensive financial planning and execution.
